Borrow a laptop

University laptops can be borrowed from one of the lap safes located in The Gateway building level 2 and St. Peter's Library. They are for student use only and can be borrowed on a self-service, first-come first-served basis. They can not be booked.

Lap safes are secure charging cabinets for laptops which are located in different buildings on the University campus. There are 2-day loan laptops on level 2 in The Gateway building lap safe. There are 10-day (short loan) and 28-day (long loan) laptops available to students through a lap safe at St. Peter's Library.

You will need your campus card and your PIN to borrow and return a laptop and interact with the touch screen kiosk on the lap safe. To reset your PIN, please go to library.sunderland.ac.uk/pin and follow the on-screen instructions.

Laptops can only be borrowed when The Gateway building and St. Peter's Library are open.
