Visit our Library buildings

Our buildings are open for current students and staff, with space to study and browse our collections. We have a range of different study areas for you to choose from, with space to use your own devices or one of our computers.

Although we have temporarily reduced the building capacity to ensure safe distancing, you do not need to book a time to visit. You will need to use your campus card to open the outer doors and use the library gates.

Our priority is providing a safe environment for students and staff, therefore physical distancing measures will be in place. We have rearranged our main floor study areas and our PC clusters to ensure distance can be kept between Library users. Unfortunately, our individual study rooms will be unavailable until further notice as their size does not allow safe social distancing.

Sanitiser and cleaning materials are available in our Library buildings. We ask that during your visit that you follow the guidance displayed throughout the building regarding hand washing and sanitisation, social/physical distancing, and face coverings.

You can view the opening hours for both our Sunderland library buildings on our website. Please visit the main University website for travel information (including parking).
