Borrowing periods and limits
From September 2020, we are extending all loan periods for books and DVDs to 28 days. Please note this does not include Not For Loan items or laptops.
Borrowing periods
Loan Category | Description | Fine per day |
28 Day Loan | All wider reading materials, including DVDs and other materials | 10p per item |
Not For Loan | Items that cannot be borrowed from the library and are used within the library for reference | N/A |
Laptops | Self-service laptops from the LapSafe and bookable laptops | £10 per item |
If at the point of issue a 28 Day Loan resource is reserved, the loan period will automatically change to a 7 Day Loan. This is to ensure the fair circulation of resources.
Check your self-service receipt and manage your loans by logging into your library account. If a resource is reserved whilst on loan the due date will not change but renewals will not be possible. If an item has a reservation on it prior to you borrowing it, you will only be able to borrow it for seven days and renewals will not be possible.
Log into your library account.
