All University of Sunderland students are automatically members of our libraries. You might find it helpful during your first visit to outline your particular needs with regard to our services. Your campus card allows you to:

There may be times when it is more convenient for you to use our services from home or work. We offer a wide range of electronic services and resources:

Computers and IT

All computers have a Student Desktop that provides access to the same software and your own student work from any machine. Log in with your University user ID and password. Read more about our learning technology.

Reserving books

All students can reserve books that are either out on loan or that are available at one of our libraries. For example if you need a book from The Murray Library and you study more at St. Peter’s, we can send the item for you to collect from St. Peter’s Library. You can return your books to either of our libraries. Read more about reserving resources.

Renewing books

If you need to keep an item you have on loan for longer, you can renew it up to five times provided they are not reserved by another customer. You can renew items by logging into your library account.

Extended due dates

Our books are either 28 Day Loans, 7 Day Loans, or 1 Day Loans. In certain cases, we can extend 7 Day Loan items for you where feasible. Please contact Paula West (Disability Support Coordinator) for more information.
