Guests and Visitors

Our spaces in Sunderland are open to our guest community during our staffed helpdesk hours. You can use the study spaces in Library at Murray and St Peter's Library, refer to our print collections, and connect your own devices to our WiFi. All categories of guest membership are free of charge.

University of Sunderland graduates

As a University of Sunderland graduate, you're part of a global community. You'll join our Alumni Association automatically when you graduate, and you can then choose to join the Library as a guest.

Members of the SCONUL Access scheme

SCONUL Access is a reciprocal scheme which allows many university library users to borrow or use books and journals at other libraries which belong to the scheme. The scheme covers most of the university libraries in the UK and Ireland.

University of Sunderland Emeritus Professors

If you hold this honorary title, you are eligible to join the Library as a guest. You'll be provided with a University user ID and email account by the University's HR department.

Visiting Professors and Research Fellows

If you are a visiting Professor or Research Fellow actively working with the University, you are eligible to join the Library as a guest. You'll be provided with a University user ID and email account by the University's HR department.

University of Sunderland Board of Governors

If you are a member of the University's Board of Governors and are not a member of staff or student, you are eligible to join the Library as a guest. You'll be provided with a University user ID and email account by the University's HR department.
