Authorised users and access permissions
In addition to the conditions of use each publisher's licence defines who may access their resource. These people are called "authorised users". Each group of authorised users has different access permissions.
Authorised users are:
- Current students and staff
- Partner college staff
- Visiting professors & research fellows
- Emeritus professors
Authorised users with accounts can access subscription resources using Library Search or by going directly to the resource and choosing the Academic/Institutional/Shibboleth option. There is currently no remote access to e-resources for user groups without a user ID.
Current students and staff
May access:

Partner college staff
To arrange the set-up of their user ID and password, partner college staff should contact their Faculty representative. They may access:

- ACS Publications
- Cite Them Right Online
- Ebook Central
- Education databases (EBSCO)
- Euromonitor Passport
- JustCite
- Reaxys
- ScienceDirect
- VLeBooks
Visiting professors & research fellows
Visiting professors and research fellows should contact HR to have their user ID set up. They may access:
- 17th and 18th Century Burney Collection Newspapers
- ACM
- ACS Legacy Archives - ACS Publications
- Cambridge Journals Archive
- Reaxys
- ScienceDirect
Emeritus professors
Emeritus professors need to contact HR to have their user ID set up. They may access:
- ACM
- ACS Legacy Archives - ACS Publications
- Cambridge Journals Archive
- Education Databases (EBSCO)
- JSTOR
- Reaxys
- ScienceDirect
Other users (including members of the University's Alumni Association, members of the SCONUL Access Scheme, and retired staff)
There is currently no remote or walk-in access to e-resources for the above user groups.
