Authorised users and access permissions

In addition to the conditions of use each publisher's licence defines who may access their resource. These people are called "authorised users". Each group of authorised users has different access permissions.

Authorised users with accounts can access to subscription resources using Library Search or by going directly to the resource and choose Academic/Institutional/or Shibboleth optio

Current students and staff

May access:

Teachers of authorised users at another institution (partner college staff)

To arrange set up of their user ID and password, partner college staff should contact their Faculty representative. They may access:

Visiting professors

Visiting professors need to contact HR to have their user ID set up. They may access:

  • 17th and 18th Century Burney Collection Newspapers
  • ACM
  • ACS Legacy Archives - ACS Publications
  • Cambridge Journals Archive

  • ScienceDirect

Emeritus professors

Emeritus professors need to contact HR to have their user ID set up. They may access:

  • Education Databases (EBSCO)
  • JSTOR

  • ScienceDirect

Walk-in users, including Alumni Association members, SCONUL members, and retired staff
